ACC Deputy Director Jahangir Alam, also investigating officer of the case, filed the charge sheet with the court on Sunday, ACC Public Relations Officer (Director) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told Dhaka Tribune. According to the investigation report, the accused misused their power in collusion with each other and embezzled a total of Tk 16.71 crore through three bills in the name of purchasing and supplying medical equipment to the district health department, including Satkhira Sadar Hospital. The charge sheet has been filed against the accused under Section 5 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, the investigations report said. Earlier on July 9 last year, ACC Assistant Director Jalal Uddin filed the case against the accused, who are currently out on bail.
