The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday appointed an investigation officer to conduct an inquiry into allegations of corruption against Ramna police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam. ACC Assistant Director Neyamul Hasan Ghazi has been appointed as the investigating officer to probe the allegations of abuse of power and amassing of illegal wealth through irregularities and corruption, according to ACC sources. OC Monirul Islam has been accused of possessing huge wealth beyond his known income and grabbing house of a valiant Freedom Fighter. On August 17, the ACC decided to conduct an inquiry against the allegation. Meanwhile, the High Court has directed the ACC to complete the investigation of irregularities and corruption allegations against OC Monirul within three months.
