AC Milan has announced a loss of €126m ($146m) for the 2017/18 year. However, much has changed at Milan since the half-year statements were made public, not the least being the change in ownership. In 2016, long-time owner Silvio Berlusconi sold AC Milan to Chinese businessman Yonghong Li’s new company Rossoneri Sport Investment for $828 million. Instead, he embarked on a plan that involved selling off Milan’s best players to stem the tide of escalating red ink. Milan is 10th in Serie A with 12 points from 7 games with 3 wins and 3 draws and just one loss.
