Duncan McGregor's Originals jersey is proudly on show at New Zealand Rugby headquarters and takes pride of place in a gleaming display cabinet in Wellington. The Original's name will forever be associated with one explosive claim: that he gave away team secrets before a test against Wales in Cardiff. The Originals lost only one of their 35 matches - going down 3-0 to Wales - on their marathon five-month tour. McGregor went on to become a life member of that code. Thanks to the generosity of several South Canterbury people and both the New Zealand Rugby Union and New Zealand Rugby League, McGregor got a head stone in 2005, acknowledging his remarkable feats.
