Rivers Hoopers know the Africa Basketball League will be a different ball game and the competition tougher than the regional qualifiers, guard ‘Benjamin Ikechukwu has told brila.net. Hoopers secured one of two spots from the FIBA Africa Zone 3 with a perfect record at the qualifiers, despite playing less than 20 competitive games in the build up. The quality of the opposition in group A of the ABL including AS Sale and JS Karouan – both from northern Africa – will pose a bigger challenge though and the Hoopers’ shooting guard accepts they’ll have to approach the tournament differently.
