NEW DELHI: India and Japan are set to take their cooperation in civil nuclear and defence technology to the next level. Days before Japanese PM Shinzo Abe 's visit to India, foreign secretary S Jaishankar told a seminar:"Cooperation in civil nuclear energy and in defence are two domains that portend the future direction of our ties. Japan's openness to supply India with military technology reflects the high-level of confidence that the two countries have developed in each other. Abe and Modi are expected to flag off the construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shinkansen project. After the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, India and Japan are working on the Chennai-Bengaluru corridor in the next phase.
