NEW DELHI: The week-long standoff between the AAP government and Delhi’s bureaucracy after chief secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly assaulted by two MLAs at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence last week saw a breakthrough of sorts on Tuesday.Prakash attended a cabinet meeting to finalise the dates for the Delhi Assembly’s budget session. This was Prakash’s first official meeting with Kejriwal after the alleged assault on the intervening night of February 19 and 20.The Joint Forum of Government Employees has decided not to attend any meeting called by the CM or his cabinet colleagues and communicate only through file notings. He then attended the meeting with three officers from the finance department and the general administration. The cabinet decided to hold the budget session between March 16 and 28.Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said he asked the chief secretary to probe reports of discrepancies in ration distribution. He said the scheme to ensure doorstep delivery of services such as drivers’ licences will be brought to the cabinet by March 1.
