Ahmedabad: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Monday launched ‘Gujarat Azadi Andolan’ across all constituencies in Gujarat as it prepares for the state assembly election expected in December. “Yes, this is AAP’s first political campaign in Gujarat and we are hopeful to mobilize a lot of people ahead of the elections. According to political analyst Ghanshyam Shah, a simple campaign would not help AAP in Gujarat unless it is strongly linked with organizational development. “One of the reasons why AAP has not been consistent in raising issues in Gujarat is because they lack a strong organizational base here. While AAP is not a very significant political party in Gujarat today, there would be many ‘fence-sitters’ in Gujarat, especially from the middle class, who might turn to AAP (if) they build a very strong organizational base in next few months.
