In the song, Roark, aka Tomemitsu, eschews the pop convention of verse-chorus-verse and relies on his stream of consciousness. This is quickly followed by the title track, a rework of the closing track to his 2013 debut Modes. Strange Vibes sees the singer zeroing in on the shopworn Brooklyn indie sound, resulting in a rather forgettable moment that's been done before by acts like Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing. Advertised as a "a summer club song", the track sees the UK rapper linking up with fellow MC Donae'o and neo-soul vocalist Greentea Peng. "I wish you loved you as much as you love him/ So kiss his picture and chuck it in the bin!"
