There is a misperception held by some that only poor Black or minority families live in inner-city projects. He only saw other poor and disenfranchised children looking for a chance at a better life — one most would not find. Seeman’s lifeline was a scholarship to an elite Catholic high school in Toledo, which he grabbed with both hands. While at that school, Seeman applied to Yale and was accepted. And yet, Seeman found the inner strength to “choose wisely.”After Yale, Seeman did find his way into Harvard Law School.
