Besides making his obligatorily introductory rounds with his ministerial counterparts of similar portfolios, the avuncular Mat Sabu apparently became somewhat of a “popular sensation” at the Dialogue. Journalist friends told me that once when I was interviewed on the Dialogue, Mat Sabu and his contingent passed by, and he turned back, stopped and looked in my direction. The journalists asked if I knew Mat Sabu, and I answered, perhaps only very casually. Many discussions at the Dialogue were thus somewhat shrouded or couched in the “summit limelight”. As the Dialogue drew to a close, all eyes in the region and indeed the world are now trained on the Kim-Trump summit.
