Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka will be free of private cars once a month. He made the statement at an event to commemorate World Car Free Day 2017 on Friday. Only regular public transport vehicles will be available on Manik Mia Avenue on the car-free day. Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) along with 48 other private organisations and NGOs organised the daylong event at Manik Mia Avenue.
