“I felt for sure he was going to kill me,” Shawn Poirier, 32, testified Thursday in Superior Court. Poirier said he pulled out his knife from Harten’s purse, which he had been holding while she urinated. I’d show him (Pimentel) my knife and scare him away.” Poirier told the jury he “always” carries a knife because “where I’m from it’s a necessity,” whether to cut rope or a snare trap. Poirier said when he showed Pimentel the knife “he smiled, and jumped at me,” and rained blows to his head. Harten testified Poirier told her he worried he had killed the man.
