Shophouses near Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Ipoh in 1972. But I soon realised that there were some similarities between Segamat and KL and the sense of familiarity helped me find my footing. At that time, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, KL still felt like a small town, which reminded me of Segamat. Although KL has changed a lot over the years, Segamat has not changed much. While KL is about my youth and adulthood, Segamat will always represent childhood innocence and simple pleasures.
