It was never a smooth sail for the Kochi Corporation as well as the firm picked up for executing the project. Later, the conversion of paddy wetlands for setting up the plant had triggered serious debates. The government brought out an ordinance by excluding the land required for the plant. The civic body will have to provide 300 tonnes of waste a day which will be the raw material for the plant.
