Chin & Lee, a Chinese restaurant a few storefronts down, was up for sale. It’s called Holy Chow, and it serves kosher Chinese food. The shopping center near his Silver Spring house boasts a kosher pizza parlor, a kosher bakery, a kosher candy store and that kosher supermarket, but no Chinese. He’s been a chef for nearly 40 years — most recently at Oriental East in Silver Spring — but had never cooked kosher food before.
