The gigant­ic astero­id 1998 OR2 will pass by within 6.3 millio­n kilome­ters of our planet on April 29A mile-long asteroid will make a close approach to Earth on April 29, revealed NASA. However, there is no reason to worry because the asteroid will not even come close to striking Earth. The gigantic asteroid 1998 OR2 is one of the brightest and largest potentially dangerous asteroids out there but it will be passing 3.7 million miles/6 million km from Earth. The 1998 OR2 asteroid will be about 16 times farther from us than the moon is from the Earth. Hence when given enough time these asteroids will eventually send a big space rock screaming toward Earth.
