Following an attack with bullets Friday morning, the owner of the Thai Fusion restaurant in West Kelowna, B.C. "If it was still with baseball bats, we definitely could have kept open, that's for sure," said Luke Sumpantarat, the restaurant owner. Until Friday, Sumpantarat was determined to keep the restaurant open, but he decided the potential danger to the restaurant patrons and staff were no longer worth it. Since 2015, multiple attacks on the restaurant have left smashed windows, and, in one incident, a graffiti message about owing money. Despite the attacks, Thai Fusion has received many comments on social media from regular patrons mourning the closure of the popular restaurant.
