Recent international developments reveal that the world is indeed anarchic and, in the absence of a global authority to maintain peace and stability, it is up to individual nation-states to look out for themselves, writes Oscar van Heerden. The hypocrisy and double standards have been exposed - and spin doctors from the collective West, including its media houses, are finding it increasingly difficult to spin. The emphatic responses condemning Russia for its illegal invasion and occupation of Ukraine and the speed with which the UN and ICC responded against the Putin regime was breathtaking in its execution and speed. NATO countries rallied around the clarion call to give Russia's President Vladimir Putin a moment of pause, and battle groups and military assistance were the order of the day.
