A day to build a dream onFor the first time in more than 15 years, the Dream Community’s annual Dream Parade is shifting both its day and location, from downtown Taipei on a Saturday in October to tomorrow in New Taipei CityBy Diane Baker / Staff reporterJust over two decades ago, Gordon Tsai (蔡聰明) founded the Dream Community (夢想社區文教發展基金) on rezoned farmland owned by his family in what was then Taipei County’s Sijhih District (汐止), aiming to create a place where art and creativity would be part of residents’ daily lives. The annual Dream Parade, which will be held from 3pm to 6pm in New Taipei City’s Banciao District, will once again feature the Dream Community’s monster pirate fish-boat float. The wide range in ages of the annual Dream Parade’s samba dancers is highlighted on Monday at a news conference at New Taipei City Plaza in Banciao District. Rain did little to dampen the enthusiasm of Dream Parade participants or audiences on Oct. 21, 2017, along Zhongshan South Road in Taipei.
