A covert queso recipe was an unlikely victim of Israel's failed moon mission

There was an unlikely victim embroiled in last week’s failed Israeli moon mission: A covert recipe for chile con queso. According to the Austin American-Statesmen, a beloved recipe from the city’s Kerbey Lane Cafe chain of restaurants was on board the ill-fated Beresheet spacecraft, which crashed into the lunar surface. Austin mayor Steve Adler apparently selected the top-secret queso recipe for inclusion in the Arch Lunar Library, which was intended to serve as a time capsule left behind on the moon. Does Kerbey Lane Cafe’s recipe call for Velveeta or American cheese? According to Munchies, the recipe has now been exposed in the contents of Adler’s letter, but the type of cheese to be used remains “redacted for Earthlings.”
