In February, she was arrested at an airport at Moscow airport and accused of having cannabis vaping oil in her luggage. In May, a U.S. State Department official said that she had been wrongfully detained in Russia. Griner’s agent has confirmed that the WNBA star is receiving some communication with family and friends while being detained. The WNBA is also working with the US government to try to find a solution for the two-time Olympic gold medalist.
