A legendary star of stage, film and TV, Feb. 6My first memory of seeing Christopher Plummer act: the CBC aired a broadcast of Stratford’s 1957 Hamlet with Plummer. The students in my elementary school, all of us, were told we could and should stay up in the evening to watch it; parents were notified that school would start an hour later than usual the day after, which it did. The play lasted well past my usual bedtime, and I’m sure I didn’t understand all of it, but I was very sad, at the end, when he died.
