Safe adventure is adventure minus adversity: it is riskless risk. Some less-populated states are already marketing their geographies as places for safe adventure where we can possibly avoid coronavirus. Virtual travel is booming, according to National Geographic magazine, which devoted an article to virtual travel in honor of this year’s Earth Day. Of the five highlighted in the article, all seem well-suited to today’s definition of safe adventure, which means adventure without the venture. It is possible that in the coming months many of us may opt for the psychic and physical security of safe adventure travel.
