Nessan Bermingham runs with his trainer, sparring partner and friend, Shane Genakos, in Boston to prepare for an endurance race in the Andes. Dr. Bermingham runs in Boston’s South End neighborhood. During the week, Dr. Bermingham usually works out from 7 to 8:30 a.m. in a home gym. Dr. Bermingham is a founder and the CEO of Intellia Therapeutics, a biotech company using Crispr-Cas9 gene-editing technology to try to treat diseases.
