The Star agreed that the identities of the students involved and their parents should be protected. The year the alleged incident occurred and the grade the students were in at the time remain under publication ban. Once informed of the alleged assault, school officials did not investigate, the plaintiff alleges in court filings. UCC says it was only after the student was sent home, in a phone call with one of his parents, that school staff were first told of the alleged assault. A previous version stated that five St. Michael's College students were convicted and all sentenced to two years' probation in a sexual assault case.
