But the forces of progress won the Civil War and gave us the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. The Voting Rights Act has been gutted by the modern Supreme Court, and the court has allowed corrupt, dark campaign financing on massive scales to rage. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court, which is turning unchecked power over to state governments, is also making sure that those state governments can be rigged to enshrine undue Republican political power. The legacy of progress from past generations, and the rights, freedom, and liberty of future generations, are on our shoulders. For now, voters still have the information and the imperfect tools they need available to them to save the Republic.
