The plain-land tribes of North Bengal, including the Santal and Garo, are some of the biggest pig farmers in a country where its consumption is taboo among the Muslim majority, but has a niche customer base among the Christian community and also themselves. Now, this backyard piggery farming practice is becoming commercially viable for the tribes. The photo was taken at Kantanagar in Dinajpur on Monday.
