South Bend, Ind. The U.S. Supreme Court is considering a constitutional challenge to a California law targeting pro-life pregnancy centers. The so-called FACT Act requires the centers to tell clients they may qualify for subsidized abortions—a clear example of compelled speech. But such laws aren’t the only threats to the centers’ freedom of speech. At the local level, activists have begun a quiet push to protect the abortion industry through zoning.
