In the 2016 presidential election, Mr. Trump garnered 77.5 percent of the vote in Breezy Point. In a city where a majority of residents are people of color, the two-square-mile Breezy Point remains 92 percent white. Other areas of the city voted overwhelmingly for Mr. Trump in 2016. The Breezy Point cooperative has rules about home sales that can make it difficult for outsiders to become homeowners.
