$950k boost for Women in Sport Aotearoa on International Women's Day


Women in sport have received a $950k injection from the government on International Women’s Day. The investment is to support New Zealand’s hosting of the largest women in sport conference in the world in May 2022. Women in Sport Aotearoa, Ngā Wāhine Hākinakina o Aotearoa (WISPA) is hosting the 8th World Conference of the International Working Group on Women in Sport (IWG), which brings together the best minds from around the world with the goal of creating equality and opportunities for girls and women in sport. The country will host the cricket and rugby World Cups in 2022, and co-host the Fifa Women’s Football World Cup in 2023.
