Nine people lost their lives on Sunday, November 1, following a grisly accident involving a lorry and a 14-seater matatu. Kilifi Police Commander Stephen Matu confirmed to Nation that the accident occurred along Kaloleni-Mazeras highway in Bondora, Kilifi. Photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed a completely mangled matatu, with its seats scattered across the roads. Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, in the same month, noted that most accidents occurred between November and February, and during festivities. That is the only way we are going to deal with road accidents," urged Matiang'i while launching the National Safe Roads Programme.
