An 86-year-old man has died climbing a Via Ferrata alpine route at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden, B.C. The Via Ferrata route at the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is billed as the 'most exhilarating' in Western Canada on the resort's website. Via Ferrata is Italian for 'iron road', and refers to mountain climbing routes made from permanently fixed cables, steps and ladders.
