A pedestrian struck at the intersection of Steeles Ave. W. and Dufferin St. is in life-threatening condition. Eight pedestrians and one cyclist were hit in nine separate collisions across Toronto on Friday, police say. There is typically an increase in the number of pedestrians struck in the fall, as the days become shorter and visibility changes. Clint Stibbe told CP24 that that the number of pedestrians struck typically spikes between Sept. 15 and the end of November, with November being the worst month on average for collisions with pedestrians. Senior women are over-represented in cases this year where pedestrians have been struck, Stibbe said.
