Eight members of a family have sustained burn injuries in a gas line explosion at a house in Demra’s Konapara area in Dhaka. The injured are Arif, 35, Ratna Begum, 18, Shipon, 7, rimon, 18, Ferdousi, 35, Tofazzal, 22, Tasim, 2, and Alamgir, 40. Alamgir’s brother Joynal told the Dhaka Tribune: “My brother moved to this house with his family two months back. “He had been complaining about the gas leak for a while now. He was supposed to talk to the house owner.”He said: “The neighbours informed me that a wall collapsed after the blast.”However, firefighters are yet to confirm the matter.
