Eight Crime Intelligence officers have been arrested for allegedly murdering a suspect. The suspect was certified dead at the Protea police station on 23 February. The suspect was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and dagga. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has arrested eight Crime Intelligence officers for allegedly torturing and murdering a suspect in a police station. "It is alleged that officers interrogated the first suspect, while they were busy interviewing him, he collapsed due to seizure.
