Members of Rapid Action Battalion 12 have recovered 75,390kg rice from the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGD) programme, which was earmarked for destitute women, from a privately-owned rice depot in the Railgate area of Sirajganj’s Sadar upazila. RAB carried out at the the drive at the rice depot of M/S Razzak Traders, owned by one Abdur Razzak, 44, on Wednesday. Company Commander of RAB 12 Sirajganj Camp Major Safayat Ahmed Suman and Executive Officer of Sirajganj Sadar upazila Md Faisal Uddin jointly led the drive. Sadar upazila Executive Officer Md Faisal Uddin said that the rice was stored for the impoverished women. However, Sirajganj Sadar police station OC Helal Uddin said that no case had been filed in this regard when contacted at the time of filing this report.
