The seven were arrested after a victim's family reported them to police, said Naogaon Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Abdul Manna Miya in a media briefing at Naogaon Sadar Model police station on Sunday. The gang assaulted him there and threatened to kill him if they were not paid Tk5 lakh as ransom. When the victim called his family and informed them of his situation, the family called police for help. Police said upon an investigation they have found that the gang was luring their victim's to their location and blackmailing them for money after capturing indecent photographs.
