SEVEN armed men, four of them Muslims, were killed in a shootout with policemen inside three suspected drug dens in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on Wednesday. The fatalities were Abundio de la Torre Jr., Allan de la Torre, Mohaimen Mauyag, Shainoden Damisimpan, Manuel Pepito, a certain Jovan and a certain Mantak. Initial investigation revealed that Lapu-Lapu City policemen conducted a follow up operation against the assailants of Kristian Saldavia, a student of Indiana Aerospace University who was killed on August 16. Policemen said they received a tip about the presence of armed men in Sitio Saint Michael, Barangay Pajac in Lapu-Lapu. The Lapu-Lapu City police also tagged the suspects as the group responsible for the killing of security guard Laurencio Revijane Jr. on Wednesday.
