Seven members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) have been killed in two separate encounters with troops in Maguindanao and North Cotabato. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Division (ID), the first encounter on Monday night killed five terrorists in Barangay Meta Datu Unsay, Maguindanao. At about 9 p.m., two terrorists using an M16 rifle killed a civilian, identified as Ricky Udas, in Barangay Limpongo, Datu Hoffer. The encounters happened in the wake of ongoing operations within the Liguasan Marsh where the troops dismantled a bomb factory and killed 15 BIFF terrorists on Sunday. Meanwhile, a young soldier was killed in the middle of the operations in the Liguasan Marsh on Monday.
