Deadly land clashes have been witnessed in several parts of Marakwet East. Four people were killed and 30 houses burnt when Kapsiren and Kabshoi clans engaged in a fierce shootout in May. Hillary Yator, a resident, said the land row has lasted more than a decade adding that the killers are out to intimidate people using legal avenues to resolve such disputes in the area.
