In a weekly operation to prevent road racing, police set up checkpoints on roads in Metropolitan Police Division 9 jurisdiction and arrested the suspects and seized their motorcycles. Pol Gen Rungroj Saengkram, deputy national police chief, held a press conference at the Tha Kham police station at midnight to announce the results of the operation. Rungroj said 29 of the suspects were under 18 years old.
