They had brought jute seeds to the port in Patgram upazila from India on April 4. After unloading the goods in the upazila, they were returning to India the same day but the authorities of India's Changrabandha land port did not take them back due to lockdown in that country. Mahfuzul Islam, deputy director (Burimari land port) of Bangladesh Land Ports Authority, said the truck drivers safely crossed the Changrabandha land port around 4:30pm. "We are glad that the Indian authorities concerned have finally decided to take back their citizens, however, we hope all parties concerned will do well to make sure that this kind of situation does not arise in the future," the official added.
