DUNEDIN, FLA.-Small and easily explored on foot, Dunedin (population 35,000) has a small-town U.S.A. feel, where the storefronts along Main St. welcome fans from the north every February and March. They would take the train from the frozen north to the now-historic station in downtown Dunedin and have spent a couple of weeks in charming thatched huts. Now the state’s most-visited state park, it features six kilometres of unspoiled beach and a walking trail where you can spot owls, ospreys and bald eagles. The brewery offers live entertainment most nights, including open-mic comedy and touring funk and old-school rock bands. Every spring, the choices include at least two Canadian selections.
