Citi Bike, New York City’s bike-share program, arrived six years ago and has become increasingly popular, helping make cycling an important piece of the transportation network. New Yorkers and tourists now take more than 70,000 Citi Bike rides per day. But even as the system has grown, Citi Bike has been criticized for catering largely to wealthier neighborhoods. But they never really reached the Bronx or many other diverse parts of the city — until now. “It’s about damn time,” Rubén Díaz Jr., the Bronx borough president, said at a news conference at the Bronx County Courthouse on Tuesday.
