By 2025, 15% of the global mobile industry will run on fifth generation (5G) technology, finds The Mobile Economy 2019 report . The report was published today at MWC Barcelona by GSMA, the mobile industry body behind MWC Barcelona. By 2025, 5G should account for around 1.4 billion connections. Telefonica-owned U.K. mobile operator o2 has already announced that it will be pushing its soon to roll out 5G service primarily to U.K. businesses. 4G should make up close to 60% of global connections by 2025, up from 43% in 2018.
