54 House lawmakers raise P3-M reward for information on Batocabe killers–reportBy The Manila TimesAT least 54 members of the House of Representatives raised P3 million as reward for information that would lead to the arrest of the killers of AKO Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe who was gunned down, along with his police escort, on Saturday, according to a radio report. Batocabe, 52, was distributing gifts to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in at about 3:30 p.m. in Daraga, Albay when unidentified assailants peppered him and SPO1 Orlando Diaz with bullets. Batocabe and Diaz were both pronounced dead on arrival at the Ago Medical and Educational Center Hospital in Legazpi City. Batocabe was running for mayor of Daraga in the 2019 midterm elections. Malacanang and Congress condemned the killing as they called for a swift and thorough investigation to bring the criminals to justice.
