500 vigilante join forces with the army to fight Boko Haram insurgents

Governor Kashim Shettima has mobilized about five hundred vigilante members to fight along soldiers in the ongoing war against insurgency in Borno State. Swearing the red dressed members with the Koran and Bible in the government house Wednesday evening, the governor warned that he will not tolerate any of them leaking sensitive information about operations to the enemy. Governor Shettima assured the newly recruited members that he will give them all the support needed to make them overcome the enemy in the war theater. He said that the vigilante will work side by side of the civilian JTF and other military and para military agencies to support the military fighting to put an end to the atrocities of Boko Haram. Present at the occasion were the Commissioner of police Damian Chukwu, director of State service DSS and representatives of state service and other paramilitary agencies.
