Share TweetBy Jun RamirezClose to 500 Bureau of Immigration (BI) officers assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) were rotated in their terminal assignments anew as part of management’s program to deter corruption and improve service to the traveling public. In a report to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, BI port operations division chief Marc Red Mariñas said the affected airport personnel will start reporting to their new terminal assignments Thursday. Mariñas informed Morente that the rotation was implemented barely three months after his office ordered a similar reshuffle of BI officers assigned to conduct immigration formalities for international travelers in NAIA’s arrival and departure areas. “As a result of this latest rotation, every immigration officer assigned at the NAIA was transferred from his or her present assigned terminal to any one of the two other terminals at the airport.
