The country’s Minister of Health, Hamad Haasan, told reporters that 2,750 people were injured in the blast, which occurred at the Beirut port. According to the country’s NNA News, the Secretary-General of the Kataeb Political Party, Nazar Najarian, was among those killed in the explosion. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, said “rescue and aid” were on the way to Lebanon. “I express my fraternal solidarity with Lebanese people after the explosion that caused so many casualties and so much damage tonight in Beirut.
